Bluehost-This domain was highly recommended from other bloggers I followed and I can truly say that I’m happy with the results.  It provides a site for my blog, a domain name, and is pretty consistent with the hosting.  Check them out using the link.

StudioPress-This is where I purchased my Genesis Framework.  It was highly recommended by several bloggers.

Pretty Darn Cute Design- I am using the Pretty Chic theme for my blog.  There are a ton of (feminine) themes for all kinds of bloggers.  Go check out the site.

Blogging Books 
Start Your Own Blogging Business–A quick introduction into blogging with plenty of tips.  I read this book first and gained insight on how to turn my hobby into a business.

How to Blog for Profit Without Selling Your Soul-This is a staple in many bloggers’ library, including mine.  Read the book and get the basics for starting your blog.

Teacher Professional Reading List

The New Art and Science of Teaching– This is where the idea for this blog began.  All the strategies I blog about are from this teacher manual.  Enjoy!

Teach Like a Champion-This is a book I recommend to any teacher that is ready to improve their craft.  This was the first book I received when I transferred schools and I reference to it while writing.  Great read for teachers.

The Six-Minute Solution: A Reading Fluency Program (Intermediate Level)- I use this book with my middle school students to help increase fluency.  I highly recommend it because the results are amazing when used on a consistent basis.


Becoming a Better Teacher -This is a great book to review on strategies to help classroom teachers help students learn better.


The Struggling Reader-A great source for elementary or reading lab teachers. I read and used this book as a resource while teaching reading lab.

Personal Finance

The Total Money Makeover-Dave Ramsey encourages you through several testimonies on how to get out of debt.  This book is great for personal finance with easy, baby steps to make your life manageable.

The Money Class-If you have watched her show before, you know that she is very knowledgeable about money and encourages you not spend the money you do not have. Suze Orman explains how to take control of your finances and stand up against debt.
