Are you ready to start your teacher blog?  It is time; your audience awaits.  I had important information to say, and I had an audience who wanted more. Before I started my blog, I had performed three professional developments, and I always received positive feedback.  I was the leader of several committees, such as Intervention Assistance Team chairperson, House leader, and class advisors.  In addition, I had won several grants and a Master Teacher License. I could accomplish a teacher blog, no problem.  Then months went by, and I had a few visitors to my blog.  I knew that I needed some help.  My blog looked professional and neat, I had two posts per week, but my numbers were low.  What could I do to increased my blog exposure? I need a blog traffic booster.

When you start your blog, you want to increase your subscriber list. In the blogging world, a subscriber list is like gold.  You can build friendships, partnerships, supporters, and customers.  How do you get a subscriber list? You collect email addresses and foster the relationship through emails.  Some people can grow their blog subscriber list very fast, while it takes other people years to grow a list.  Readers have to trust you and enjoy your content before they give you their email address. You get them to trust you by creating new posts and emailing them consistently.

Here are ten tips I found that has truly helped my blog get exposure:

Blog Traffic Booster

1.Purchase a Course-We all need a little help and guidance.  While on the internet, I realized that a few of my favorite bloggers would advertise a popular blogging course.  The course was only open at a specific time, and it was costly.  However, I purchased a course from another blogger and started seeing results immediately.  Last year, I finally broke down and bought the popular course.  The course taught me to organize my blog better and gain more subscribers.

2.Use Pinterest-I use Pinterest to promote my blog. It’s free, and I create my pins using Canva.  There are so many free videos about Pinterest and creating pins. If you have engaging and appealing pins, people will come.  I purchased a Pinterest course that was very helpful. The creator even provided me with a personal packet that assessed my pins and gave me meaningful suggestions.

3.Virtual Bee-I use Virtual Bee to share my pins and blog posts.  This is a free site that helps share your good news.  Your pins can go viral using this platform.  You have to share other people’s pins, or you can pay a fee to share your pins. You have to have a Pinterest account to share pins, but it’s free exposure, and you can see your visitors’ number grow.

4.Pass Out Business Cards-Get professional business cards made and use them to network. Have your business cards to pass out to other educators, bloggers, and parents.  Not only will a business card show you are professional but also very serious about your blog.

5.Make a Video for Each Post-Get a YouTube channel and post a video for every post.  It sounds so easy until you begin editing the video. This is my weakness. Making a video is easy, but I have not conquered the beast of editing. You can always outsource this task, but it will be another expense.

6.Tailwind-Tailwind is a great Pinterest pin scheduler. You can join communities and watch videos on how to be successful on Pinterest.  You can share your pins with other people, and you can make your pin go viral.  The pins are very professional, which causes more shares.  Tailwind does cost, but it is worth it if you are serious about blogging.

7.Write Content that People Want to Read-Write about topics that your audience wants to read about. Focus on your niche, survey your subscribers, and provide meaningful blog posts. Give attention to your email list and keep in touch with them. I know one blogger that emails her list every day.  That would be great, but I am not able to write emails on a daily basis. Provide free downloads that your audience wants.

8.Facebook Groups-Find a group to promote your pins, blog posts, and Instagram posts.  You can join several groups that promote your blog.  I have found a lot of success on Facebook. I have joined a group that shares pins, and I have witnessed my pins being shared. I use this nearly every day. I found a blog sharing group.  You post your blog post link, and members have to read your post and leave a comment. I like the group; however, it is not consistent.  I didn’t see a post for over a week, maybe because it was around Christmas.

9.Facebook Ads-I found the most success and a blog traffic booster from Facebook Ads.  Having your ads on Facebook can be expensive, but the results are amazing.  I learned that you can conduct a/b tests, short ads that last for a week, or longer ads that can last for a month. Last year, I was able to get over 200 subscribers within two months from Facebook Ads.  I was distracted after the pandemic hit the world. I don’t know the formula I used, and I haven’t been able to get the same kind of success. I am in the process of revisiting the steps of gaining so many subscribers.

10.Be Consistent-Write posts and then write more posts. To become a great blogger, you need content, and you need to post consistently.  When I started, I would write two posts a week.  It was hard, but I did it. My posts were shorter than they are now.  Now, my blog posts are 1,000 words and more.  I have over 70 blog posts, and now, I post once a week. I used to write two 500-word blog posts on Sunday and have them proofread to post in the middle of the week.  As my posts grew longer and I needed to conduct more research, I could not write two quality posts on Sunday.

Increasing your blog exposure can be challenging, but if you are determined and committed to investing your time, you can build your subscriber list. Be an expert in your field and have others seeking your opinions and ideas.  For example, I Googled how to write a thank you speech.  I was on a blog post, reading, and learning how to write a thank you speech. It was in the first spot of the search, and I read and took notes from the post. I’m sure the person that wrote the post did not consider themselves an expert when they started a blog.  So have confidence and put your blog out there.  These tips are a blog traffic booster and will increase your subscriber list.

In the comment section below, tell me if you have used any of these tips to get exposure for your blog.

How I Paid $20,000 on My Student Loan in One Year

A year has passed since my commitment to pay off my student loan debt began.  I made the commitment in November 2017, but I consider March 2018 the date that I actually began making large payments towards the debt.  To date, I have paid off $15,448.49 in principle of my student loan.  I did not […]

How to Create a Welcoming Classroom Environment

Teachers are pillars of the community and are esteemed as leaders of the educational system.  Our mannerisms, behaviors, speaking skills, and writing are taught, modeled, and reinforced.  We stand at our doors and encourage students to come into our room with open minds, ready to learn, practicing good citizenship or behavior.  As a middle/high school […]
